At the heart is the shield with a gold saltire cross and five golden pineapples, representing Jamaica’s hospitality and abundance. It’s supported by a Taino woman with a basket of fruit and a Taino man with a spear — honoring the first people of the island. Above sits the crocodile on a log, and below, the national motto on a banner: "OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE" in bold green.
